Remembered by us all as the irrepressible smiling figure in a white Tottenham shirt, shining so brightly despite anything life could throw at him. |
Reshad Ismael, known to most as Iceberg, died on Thursday the 8th of October 1998. We have all lost a friend. I am unable to find the words to express the grief which those that were touched by Reshad's presence now feel. He was our friend, and we loved him, I just hope that wherever he is he knows that. |
Death is nothing at all...I have only slipped away into the next room...I am I and you are you...whatever we were to each other that we are still. Call me by my old familiar name, speak to me in the easy way which you always used. Put no air of difference into your tone; wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow. Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes we enjoyed together. Play, smile, think of me, pray for me. Let my name be ever the household word that it always was. Let it be spoken without effect, without the ghost of a shadow on it. Life means all that it ever meant. It is the same as it ever was; there is absolutely unbroken continuity. What is death but a negligible accident? Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight? I am just waiting for you, for an interval, somewhere very near, just around the corner... All is well. |
Each Lovely Thing
Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am a thousand winds that blow,
When you waken in the morning hush,
I am in the flowers that bloom,
So do not stand at my grave and cry, |
As I have found, not all of us feel able to put into words how we feel about losing Iceberg and what he meant to us. As a mark of respect, loss and love you may light a candle for him. Each candle will remain a nameless tribute, although a list will be kept of all who request I light a candle for them. To view the tributes, please click on the candle below. |
