Important
Changes to Bounty System
A major change to the mud's bounty system has been announced,
yielding a system which deals with many previous abuses, while
being considerably more realistic. Full details can be found
here, and on the Main Board in the Adventurers Hall in Drakenwood.

Elephant
Hardware
The hardware upon which Elephant Mud runs was successfully upgraded
on the 10th May 1999, giving Ele considerably more raw power.
At the same time, the operating system was upgraded and the
filesystem laid out in a more optimized fashion. Any feedback
as to the effect this has had on your connection would be gratefully
received. (29th June 1999)
Address
for Elephant
Please will all players be sure that they are connecting to
the mud with its NAME (ie elephant.org 4444) and not its ip
address (eg a.b.c.d 4444) This address can change (in fact it
just has!), while the name will always be accurate. People connecting
via the dotted ip address may encounter problems in the future.

Extra!
Extra!
The first edition of Drakenwood's newest publication is now
out!
The Drakenwood Times can now be purchased from Aaron in the
Town Square, and another seller continuing to sell the Daily
Trumpet as normal, but down nearer the financial section of
town. This new paper offers a slightly less (dare we say) scandalous
view of the Realm's news than its older sibling, and will be
concentrating on slightly different issues. Buy now while stocks
last! (29th June 1999)
T-Shirts
Can it be? The T-shirts, at last a reality??
As scarey as it may seem, we have tracked down a supplier able
to meet our high quality requirements, and placed an order for
a large number of shirts. Jaq has kindly supplied the initial
capital for this venture, and thus will be responsible for receiving
payment for these highly desirable items. All profits will go
back into Elephant Mud, including a donation to an Elephant
Conservation charity. See the main board in Drakenwood, or here
for full details! (29th June 1999)
Web
Pages
You can now have your personal web page address displayed on
'finger'!
If you would like people to be able to see your www address,
and drop by to your little piece of virtuality, you can set
it so that it appears in 'finger'. Just type 'chfn' and follow
the prompts (and make sure that your other details are set at
the same time!) (29th June 1999)
