Fishy
Business!
A crazed fisherman has recently been frequenting the Mason's
Retreat. He babbles on about some sentient creature who warned
him not to fish too close to the coast as his nets endangered
her people. Locals dismiss his ramblings, putting them down
to one to many of Angor's notorious House Specials.

Castle
found in Valena
Ever since the
wars with Aerdy began, the famed Paladins of Valena have been
in residence in a heavily fortified castle in the middle of
Lake Silendria.
In this relatively quiet region
of Valena battles are few, giving the knights an ideal chance
to pray and practice their clerical abilities. The knights follow
a harsh training regime, keeping them amongst the most powerful
warriors in the known realms. The castle is in an ideal location
on the southern reaches of Valena, and has never been taken
by force of arms. The walled town of Brenhaven lies on the northern
shores of the lake and is easily accessible by road.
It should be noted, that while
the Paladin Knights are of a goodly alignment they do not take
kindly to trespassers imposing on the castle and their secrets.
Would-be thieves or treasure hunters would be dealt with harshly
indeed.

Fey
or fake?
Strange lights were seen in the sky
near Brenhaven in the year of 49AE. Red lightning raged across
the land striking down those who were unlucky enough to be outside.
Adventurers have
begun returning from the north bringing with them rumours of
strange new and wonderful items, not to mention a vast expanse
of land to explore. Some even claim to have been kidnapped by
the old faeriefolk, or Fey, but these tales doubtless stem from
a fondness for mushrooms or the strong Valean ales. (2nd

Undead
infestation under control
Word has filtered in via travellers
to Valena that the authorities in the town of Brenhaven have
issued a report to say that the undead infestation of local
crypts to the southwest of the town has now been brought under
control.
The
cleric in charge of the operation added: "Rumors of
a lich are just idle gossip and exaggeration, however, We still
have a little clearing up to do so we do not encourage vistiors
at the moment, although those with martial training may do so
at their own risk." (2nd

Murder
in Alforpia
At first it seemed just one more senseless
killing in this troubled part of the Realms. When the
body of Jalan Tagere was discovered horribly burned in the woods
just beyond the castle nobody realised the repurcussions that
were to come from this event. It was only later that it was
discovered that this relatively unknown ranger was Tanor's supplier
of magical incense.
Tanor is actively searching for
a new supplier but is at this stage very pessimistic about finding
one. Tanor himself may be able to provide more information on
events and what exactly happened to his last stick of incense.

All
change in the Wiz ranks!
Well, it's been a busy couple of weeks for the wizards! But
you'll be hearing more about that soon. All this makes it all
the better that we've had a bit of movement in the wiz ranks.
Moloch, after many many years
on ele as well known player and councillor, has finally joined
the Wizard Team as an Apprentice. If he continues as he has
begun it won't be long before he becomes a fully fledged Wizard.
Someone who has done just that
is Eldge. We were beginning to think he liked the title of 'Apprentice'
so much he'd never wiz, but he proved us wrong and is now a
full wizard. He's going to be a great bonus to our growing wiz
team. Well done!
Last but definitely not least
is Scarlet. Having consistently been a god send to the wiz team,
good naturedly picking up any job that needs doing she has quite
rightly earned enough credits to reach the position of Senior
Wizard. (26th April 2004)
Easter
is upon us!
Please join us for fun, games, events and festivities for most
of the day! There will be something for everyone, from the newest
of newbies to the most ancient of nobles, everyone is catered
for.
The fun will begin at around
1pm British Summer Time, Sunday April the 11th.
Don't forget to tell all your
Elephant friends about it - you don't want
to miss out! (4th

Sewers
Flushed
Lord Rhaleth is proud to announce that much of the sewers within
the city have been opened up, allowing for a much faster disposal
of all your waste. Rumours that slimy monsters have been spotted
are of course unfounded, and the reported increase in muggings
next to the manholes are under investigation by the Town Guard.

Promoted
Kelda and Handy have both completed their Apprenticeship duties,
having each coded an excellent mini and main area. Kelda, who
wizzed on the 15th February 2004 has joined the Personnel department
and has taken the Guides under her wing. Handy, wizzed on 1st
April 2004 (not an April fool!) is still deciding where he will
be best suited. Both of them have worked extremely hard, going
from player to fully fledged wizard in under a year. They are
going to both be invaluable members of the Wizard team helping
to develop and expand Elephant Mud. We welcome them and
wish them all the best in their new roles! (3rd
